Pupils celebrate at the 60th birthday party
DILKES Primary School in Ockendon, graded as “outstanding” by Ofsted last year, has celebrated its 60th birthday.
After learning about the 1950s, the decade in which the school was built, children, dressed in 50s fancy dress, parents and staff packed the hall.
They enjoyed a variety of stalls, games and refreshments as the school’s steel pan band played.
Pictured are pupils taking part in the jive workshop which ran alongside an art competition, where pupils were asked to design a school that would be suitable for the next diamond jubilee.
