Sex attack charge is 21 years old

A MAN has been charged with a sex attack alleged to have happened more than two decades ago.

A 19-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted in Ayron Road, South Ockendon, on Bank Holiday Monday May 27 in 1991.

Last Wednesday detectives from Essex Police’s Cold Case Investigation Unit arrested Phil Collins.

The 53-year-old, of no fixed abode, was charged with indecent assault and kidnap.

He will appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court next week to face the charge.
