Tolls go up this weekend

THE Dartford Crossing tolls go up this Sunday – and the leader of Thurrock Council is urging residents to get their discount now.

Cllr John Kent said: “There’s not much I like about the tolls, but the Thurrock discount isn’t a bad deal for residents.

“If you are a resident who uses their personal car there is no need to pay extra. Sign up now and make a huge saving.”

The tolls are going up to £2 a crossing for cars, but people who live in Thurrock can apply for a special Dart-Tag which makes it 20p each way.

Residents pay an annual registration fee of £10 which entitles them to 50 free journeys per year and 20p for any additional journeys in the same year.

Only in this country could you get away with offering the public something so crap and despised and impose a 33% increase with more in the pipeline as well. It's time the 2 Tory MP'S woke up and realised this is just one of the things that will lose them their seats at the next general election.
