12:00pm Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in News
THE search for Thurrock’s next Young Musician of the Year is on.
The newly established Thurrock Music Education Hub, sees Thurrock Music Services, the Royal Opera House, the Rotary Club of the Mar Dyke Valley, and the Thameside Theatre working together to offer a unique opportunity to young musicians in the borough.
A series of master classes will be laid on for entrants, giving them the chance to work with some of the top professional musicians in the country to help develop their musical skills and talents further.
A finalist will be selected from each master class to perform in the grand final at the Thameside Theatre in Grays on Monday, November 19 from 7pm, where one performer will be crowned the winner.
Richard Brittain, head of Thurrock Music Services said: “Every year we are highly impressed by the standards of performance and musicianship skills demonstrated by participants in the Thurrock Young Musician of the Year competition.
“We feel sure that this year will be no exception.
“The competition provides a wonderful opportunity to further develop the partnership between Thurrock Music Services, the Royal Opera House, Thameside Theatre and the Rotary Club of Mardyke Valley.”
