Stanford-le-Hope's Rylan makes it through to X-Factor live shows

STANFORD-LE-HOPE’S Rylan Clark has made it through to the live rounds of X-Factor.

The 23-year-old model fell to his knees sobbing, in what was possibly the most dramatic reaction in the talent show’s history, as mentor Nicole Scherzinger delivered the good news on Sunday’s show.

The former Pussycat Doll told him she was concerned about how he would get on with songs which weren’t dance inspired, and that it was a “big risk” to pick him, but it was a risk she had to take.

She also said she was surprised by his serious rendition of Rihanna’s hit ‘We found love’, shown on Saturday night’s show.

Rylan couldn’t seem to take in the news, and asked his mentor, “is this a wind up? Are you having me on?”

Scherzinger seemed both amused and shocked by his reaction.

Rylan managed to give her a big hug and promised they would “have a right laugh” before heading outside to see presenter Dermot O’Leary, where he broke down again.

Rylan, who has endured death threats and negative comments on Twitter, took to the site on Sunday night to thank his followers, which have climbed to more than 58,000 now.

He said: “Thanks so much for your support, promise I won't let you guys down.”

On Monday he tweeted to say he was in rehearsals for his first performance on Saturday night.

Rylan joins Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur in the boys category, singer Adam Burridge is Nicole Scherzinger’s wildcard and is competing with three other acts to get a place in the live shows.

A total travesty - just goes to show that the show is one big fix. And as for his reaction - we were cringing with embarassment. Talentless Drama Queen.

"has endured death threats and negative comments on Twitter"

Really! Wonder why that could be! This freak is one case where I'd say cyber bullying is justified.
