A COOK book compiled of recipes born in ordinary households throughout Chafford Hundred will raise funds for the Essex Wildlife Trust.
Ann Hart Billingham, of Chafford Hundred, has spent nine months pulling together recipes from neighbours, residents and local businesses to put into a community cook book.
The idea came to Ann while she was cooking one day soon after she had reignited a culinary enthusiasm just before christmas.
The book has 175 homemade recipes. Some have been passed down through generations, while others are just family favourites.
Local business people, such as Ann’s window cleaner, have contributed recipes to the book, too. The book, simply named the Chafford Hundred Community Cookbook, will be launched at the Chafford Gorges Nature Park visitor centre between 2pm and 4pm on October 6.
All money raised by the book will go to the Essex Wildlife Trust’s Living Landscape scheme.
It will be available to buy directly from Ann or at the Chafford Gorge Nature Park visitor centre, priced at £7.99. Alternatively, e-mail chaffordcooks@talktalk.net
