Morrison boss' sorrow over deal

THE chief executive of shunted council homes repairs firm Morrison is “disappointed” that the service has “not performed well”.

In a statement, Guy Wakeley said residents deserve a good quality of service and welcomed Cllr Val Morris-Cook’s acknowledgement that the council had made mistakes in the way it had managed the contract, but vowed to improve the service in the short term.

He said: “Morrison remains determined to provide a good quality service to the residents of Thurrock. They deserve it and are paying for it through their rents.

“Our staff and management are residents of Thurrock and we share the council’s disappointment that the service has not performed well.

“We are grateful for Cllr Morris-Cook’s acknowledgement of the mistakes made by the council in the tendering and management of the contract. What matters now is we work together to make the service a success.”

He needs to start by improving the rude and unhelpful staff at the call centre, then work his way through the lot of them!
