MP's praise for Battle of Britain heroes

THURROCK MP Jackie Doyle-Price laid a wreath at a memorial service for those who fought in the battle of britain.
The service which took place around the war memorial in Grays on Sunday, was attended by over 100 people, including the borough’s deputy mayor Anthony Fish and men, women, boys and girls from local sevice organisations.
Those gathered at the service, which was organised by the RAF Association Thurrock, observed a two minute silence at 11pm.
The Association hold a memorial service every year, with this year being the 72nd anniversary.
Throughout last week, the group were also fundraising for Wings Appeal week in Grays Shopping Centre.
Jackie Doyle-Price said: “The battle of Britain service is our opportunity to pay tribute to the brave aircrew who fought for our freedom.
"I congratulate the RAF association for keeping this memory alive and reminding us of the bravery of all our service men and women.
"We must never forget.”
