Homesteads development refused a third time

A DEVELOPMENT in Foxfield Drive, Stanford-le-Hope, has been refused for the third time by a government inspector.

Thurrock Council refused permission for the application to knock down an existing property and build two three bed bungalows and a four bed chalet in its place.

The applicant appealed the decision, but it was dismissed.

Pauline Tolson, conservative councillor for the Homesteads ward, said: “Thurrock Council’s Planning Committee made the right decision, again, this has been agreed with by the Government Inspector, we need to protect the spacious nature of the area and resist inappropriate development of residential gardens, where, as here it would cause harm to the local area.”

Good. A lot of the plots on the Homesteads have been ruined by people putting up more than one house on a plot deisgned for one.
I wonder if the remaining properties could be given conservation status or something similar to protect them from idiots.
