Councillor's anger as motorbike yobs cause a nuisance in South Ockendon

A COUNCILLOR is furious after yobs set fire to a motorbike in a popular park.

The bike was set alight on the ball court at Quince Tree Park in South Ockendon last Thursday evening around 7pm.

Conservative ward councillor Lynn Carr is urging anyone who knows who did it, to report them anonymously.

She said: “I am really angry about this, cllr Barry Johnson and myself have worked really hard to get this park properly maintained by Thurrock Council so people young and old can enjoy it, and they are doing a good job, the park looks beautiful.

“Now someone has done this, I don’t think it has caused much damage to the ball park, but it was a very dangerous thing to do, it could have exploded.

“Words fail me, it’s appalling.

“If anyone knows who did this, please get in touch with Kerry O’Prey at the housing office and report them.

“You don’t need to give your name, its not a problem.”

To add to the councillors’ concerns, there have also been reports of yobs on motorikes riding up and down the pavements in the Flowers Estate, near to Lime Tree Close senior citizen’s club.

Cllr Carr added: “This is so dangerous, we’ve worked so hard on making the Flowers Estate a nice place to live, I just won’t have this.

“We will do everything in our power to stop things like this going on.”

If you know who is involved in either of these incidents, call the council on 01375 652652, or cllr Carr on 07824 538698.

Usual Suspects I have no doubt!
Sick of watching these disregarding no hopers riding bikes around Ockendon with no helmets on, which clearly indicates they have just pinched it. Then they set light to it to rid the bike of any evidence they have touched it etc
Yes I have given their names over on several occasions!
