Hall gets roof repair cash

ORSETT Village Hall has a refurbished roof thanks to the help of Veolia Mardyke Trust.

The trust was able to fund half the work on the leaky roof with a donation of £5,760.

The hall has been in the village since 1972 and had had no work done on it since.

Tracy Pigg, chairman of the village hall committee, said: “We applied to the trust earlier this year and were paid a visit by its secretary Andy Furze.

“Andy was very helpful and assured me the trust would consider our application for helping us refurbish the roof.

“They have donated half of the final cost, which was very much appreciated by the committee.

“Our refurbishment has now been completed, luckily as the rain has put it to the test quite severely.”
