Fun day to help Harry's charities
7:30am Friday 14th September 2012 in News
Harry Mills
A FUN day has been arranged by the mother of a young boy battling a rare genetic disorder.
Four-year-old Harry Mills, from Stanford-le-Hope, has tuberous sclerosis, which means tubers can grow on his organs.
At the moment, he has multiple tubers on his brain, which cause epilepsy, autism, and developmental delay, among other problems.
Harry, who has to endure fits up to ten times a day, will have to undergo a brain operation this month, and possibly a second operation in March.
His mum, Sarah Mills, has organised the fun day on Saturday, September 15, to raise funds for the two charities helping Harry, the Tuberous Sclerosis Association and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The event will be held from noon on Corringham Junior School’s field, in Herd Lane, Corringham, with all proceeds split between the charities.
There will be music, inflatables, a kids entertainer, face painting and tattoos, an ice cream van, barbecue, children’s games, and stalls among other attractions.
