7:30am Monday 10th September 2012 in News
A NEW and improved bus link will now run between Tilbury Town Station and Tilbury Riverside.
National Express rail operator, c2c, has appointed Ensignbus to run the new 99 service, which began last week.
It includes an extension to the existing route, with a new link to the ASDA store in Tilbury, Montreal Road, and Dock Road.
The service will run every 30 minutes through the day in a one-way circuit. Ensignbus is providing a new bus for the route which is fully wheelchair accessible and has LED signage.
Adult single fares will be £1 and return journeys £1.50, child fares are half price.
Ensignbus season tickets are now valid on the 99 route, offering cheaper travel for regular users on this service and the rest of the Thurrock network.
Ross Newman, managing director for Ensignbus, said: “We’re delighted to be serving this new route and we believe our new accessible bus will prove really popular with local passengers.”
Julian Drury, c2c’s managing director, said: “We have decided to extend the 99 route to provide better transport connections for local passengers.
"I hope that introducing the link to Tilbury Asda in particular will be a major benefit for the community.”
