Sophie Ellis-Bextor does the honours
POP star Sophie Ellis-Bextor presented a cheque for £1,000 to Basildon Hospital’s maternity unit at the weekend.
The singer, who has had hits with Murder On The Dancefloor and Get Over You, was at the opening of the new Mamas and Papas store, in Lakeside Retail Park.
The store, which sells a huge variety of baby and nursery products, will be located beside Next clearance and will create around 20 new jobs.
