Couriers' depot set to open
7:00am Sunday 9th September 2012 in News
ONE of the UK’s largest home delivery couriers is opening a new depot in West Thurrock in time for the Christmas rush.
The 52,000 sq ft depot, in Weston Avenue, will create 60 jobs, ranging from management and adminstration to driver and warehouse roles.
Hermes, which works with a host of clients offering home delivery, have added the warehouse to their network following an increase in demand in the south east.
The warehouse has good security and six loading bays, as well as office space.
Carole Wood-head, CEO of Hermes in the UK, said: “We are experiencing considerable increases in parcel volumes within the south east of England, so we needed to increase capacity to meet requirements.”
