William Edwards pleased with results

WILLIAM Edwards School in Grays is celebrating the best GCSE results in its history.

There were lots of smiling faces at the academy, in Stifford Clays Road, after 71 per cent of students achieved five A* to C grades including English and maths, an improvement of two per cent on last year’s figures.

Headteacher Steve Munday said: “We are delighted with these results.

“This outstanding level of achievement is significantly above nation average, and is testament to the hard work and dedication of students and teachers at the school and the excellent support we receive from parents and governors.”

This makes William Edwards the second best performing school in the borough in terms of results this year, behind the Harris Academy in Chafford Hundred.

However, Ormiston Park Academy in Aveley, along with the Ockendon Academy in South Ockendon, have yet to release their GCSE results.
