A GIRL from Grays has jetted off to Bulgaria after winning Miss Summer UK.
Sasha Wright, 18, from Grays, is staying in a luxurious five star hotel this week competing to win the Miss Summer International contest.
The Thurrock girl, who won Miss Teen Essex Galaxy in 2011, has a busy few months ahead with a Miss Commonwealth pageant taking place in Grays in November, where she is a finalist.
But first Sasha flies out to compete in the Miss Summer pageant, with the aim of the contest being to promote tourism in Bulgaria.
She will be living a life of glamour in Bulgaria, taking part in photoshoots on yachts on the Black Sea and on the sands of the Balkan state’s glorious beaches.
The competition, which takes place on Saturday, will consist of various rounds, including national dress, swimwear and evening wear.
Sasha is getting used to the glitz and glamour of beauty pageantry after competing in them for two years now. After winning Miss Teen Essex Galaxy in 2011, she went on to come third in the national stage of the competition, earning the title Miss Teen Style Queen.
Sasha told the Gazette: “I am looking forward to representing the UK in Bulgaria and hope to do the UK, Essex and Thurrock proud!
“I have had some fantastic local support preparing me for it, especially Laura and Hair of Essex who are providing me with fantastic hair extensions for the final!”
