Lakeside makes stroke project donation

The donation at Thurrock Stroke Project
THE latest recipient of a cool £500 from Lakeside Shopping Centre’s Heart of the Community Campaign is the Thurrock Stroke Project.
The project, which supports and empowers stroke survivors in the borough, will use the donation to buy some table tennis equipment for its members.
For people who have had strokes, movement therapy is key and has been shown to have an impact on the brain and nervous system’s capacity to renew and re-wire – which is why enjoying table tennis could prove beneficial.
Chris Hamilton, of Thurrock Stroke Project, said: “This new equipment will enhance the specialist exercise programmes that we offer and make a real difference to the project.”
