Three arrests as objects thrown at A13 cars

THREE teens have been arrested on suspicion of hurling stones and wood at cars on the A13.

Police were called to the dual carriageway in Aveley, at 7.30pm on Monday, following reports of a gang of youths throwing objects at passing vehicles.

The gang were stood near to the Love Lane footbridge and caused damage to several vehicles travelling eastbound.

Police officers searched for the gang on the ground while the Essex Police helicopter was also scrambled to look for them.

Eventually police arrested three teenagers on suspicion of causing danger to road users.

An 18-year-old boy, from Aveley, a 16-year-old, from Grays, and a 15-year-old, from Aveley, remain in custody where police are questioning them.
