ORMISTON Park Academy has appointed a builder for its new £15million campus.
The academy, in Nethan Drive, Aveley, has signed a final contract with company Balfour Beatty.
Construction of the building, on the school’s current site, has now begun and is expected to be completed in summer next year.
It will feature an ampitheatre, a lecture theatre accomodating up to 90 pupils, a winter garden, sports unit, e-library, as well as a canteen for parents and pupils complete with sandwich bars and a combination of ovens and hobs.
Each classroom will have its own terrace to enable pupils to take learning outside.
There will also be three buildings for each of the school’s colleges, Aspen, Bantan and Sycamore.
School spokesman Linsey Bholah said: “Vision and passion has led to the creation of the best educational environment that you could find.”
