Standard to be dedicated

THE Grays branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a special service to dedicate a new standard on Sunday, July 1.

The standard is being dedicated in memory of past president John Webb, who passed away last year.

John, 63, helped train hundreds of youngsters as the officer commanding 106 Squadron Air Training Corps in Grays, as well as being actively involved in the Territorial Army for 25 years.

The service starts at 3pm at Grays Parish Church, in West Street, Grays. Anyone who wants to attend is welcome.
