Lakeside set to host triathlon

FITNESS fanatics are set to compete in the Lakeside Triathlon on Sunday.
The event, hosted by Lakeside Shopping Centre and sports store Decathlon, is raising cash for Little Havens Children’s Hospice and Cancer Research.
It starts with a 750-metre open water swim on Lakeside’s Alexandra Lake, followed by a 20km cycle ride, then a 5km run. Decathlon, on West Thurrock’s Tunnel Retail Park, is also opening its doors on Sunday to give families the chance to meet local sport clubs and do a range of sport taster sessions, free of charge, as part of its Discover Decathlon Day.
Activities on offer during the store’s opening hours include archery, basketball and table tennis.
