BASILDON Hospital will finally get a new boss after current chief Alan Whittle resigned.

Clare Panniker will take over as chief executive from Mr Whittle, who announced his resignation earlier this year after eight years in the job.

Mrs Panniker has been working as the chief executive of North Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust in Enfield for the past eight years.

It is expected Mrs Panniker will take up the post in October with a salary of around £153,000 a year, the same as Mr Whittle.

£153.000 per annum?

£12,733.4 per month!
So thats where all the funding for the NHS is going!
Meanwhile in the real world, the staff who tend to the ill are paid peanuts for doing a hard days graft..beggers belief....!

But she's not the only one.
There will be 2 or 3 layers of paper pushers beneath her with 2 or 3 on each, earning not much less than her.
I wouldn't have thought you'd get much change out of £1.5 million for the top levels of management's salaries.

I wonder if Alan Whittle resigned because he wanted a pay rise and got refused!
After all,who can live on this pittance a month???
It would be nice to have £12.000 per year..I'm not greedy!
