Victoria Holloway
THE leader of Thurrock Council has named his new cabinet.
Labour’s John Kent has brought two new faces in, and added an extra post, taking the number of cabinet roles from eight to nine.
Cllr Kent is keeping hold of responsibility for finance, but deputy leader Val Morris-Cook is swapping her environment portfolio for housing.
Victoria Holloway will take the environment post for her first cabinet role, and Angie Gaywood, another new face, has been given public protection to look after. Oliver Gerrish keeps his education portfolio, but adds children’s social care to it.
Cllr Barbara Rice retains responsibility for health, and takes on adult social care.
Lynn Worrall’s cabinet post has been modified slightly from community culture and leisure, to transformation and community.
Phil Smith is still in charge of central services, and Andy Smith, who did have responsibility for housing, retains regeneration, highways, and transportation.
Thurrock Conservatives’ shadow Cabinet appointments: Cllr Phil Anderson (group leader) – communities and regeneration. Cllr Rob Gledhill (deputy leader) – housing. Cllr Sue Macpherson – health and adult social care. Cllr Garry Hague – strategic planning and transport. Cllr Tunde Ojetola – transformation and corporate services. Cllr James Halden – children and education. Cllr Barry Johnson – finance. Cllr Simon Wootton – environment.
