Movie critic Barry set for the Thameside

WELL known film reviewer Barry Norman will be at the Thameside Theatre next month.

Barry became a household name as the presenter of the BBC’s cinema review show for 26 years, and will be sharing clips of his favourite flicks at the theatre, in Orsett Road, Grays, on Thursday, June 28, from 8pm.

He will also be talking about some of the icons of the silver screen, most of whom he has personally interviewed.

In 1972 he started his FILM series for the BBC, which saw him become the country’s most respected movie critic.

He also wrote best-selling books on The Hollywood Greats, Film Greats, and Movie Greats, along with a string of other books including his memoirs.

In 1988 Barry presented Channel 4’s coverage of the Seoul Olympics. His radio work includes presenting the shows Today, The News Quiz, Breakaway, Going Places, The Chip Shop, and Freewheeling.

In 1998 Barry was employed by Sky to present Barry Norman’s Film Night.

Tickets are £11 for children aged between five and 16, £11 for students, and £13.50 for adults.
