God help us now we have to put up with Barry Johnson again!
This guy, as Conservative Councillor 2yrs ago tried to get parking permits on the Flowers Estate (and lost) and brought in stringent practices for late payments of council tax, which cost people a lot of money, including myself! Now we got to put up with him again and I believe it is because many voters cards were not delivered to addresses on the Estate and the thick people were not aware of the date because of it! We never got the cards and my daughter definately didn't know until I told her! What a sham and this man will create havoc again! Labour are no different, fancy putting an outsider up for the election, they're a disgrace too!

You don't need the card to vote as long as you're on the electoral roll, you're fine.

Saladsnice- I do believe you are mistaken about the parking permits on the flowers estate where you live, as when I was originally your councillor I and my colleagues put out to consultation the introduction of parking permits which, if I am not mistaken was rejected by the majority of the flowers residnts. However it is the labour group which ,in this election gave you a leaflet that "stated" not ask for your comments, that they WILL be introducing FREE parking permits to you if they gain control of the council. Unfortunately they have gained control and if they are to be believed they will be restriciting you to 2 permits per household, so I suggest that if you still do not want them you request myself or Cllr Carr, or Cllr Kiely if you can contcat him, to resist. On the subject of council tax , I or any other councillor has no power over the legislation that covers the collection and enforcement of council tax, so again you are quite wrong about me introducing any new stringent practices for late payment. If you are unable to pay your council tax on the date demanded then you should contcat the department concerned and explain why you need a new date , or even that you wish to begin your payments in March as opposed to April to avoid late payment .Lastly I am sorry you feel that having another conservative councillor in Ockendon, shoud need the help of God, but please dont forget that I and Clr Carr are always there to help the people who try to help themselves, but dont forget that you can always contcat Cllr Kiely for help. Many thanks to all the people that did vote for me both on and off the flowers estate, I promise to work hard for the ward and each and everyone of you that requests my help .

You can start by improving road safety in Thurrock, if you are a driver we drivers should not have to tell you where to start, however, here is a clue, check out the missing, incorrect and dodgy road signs and markings in Thurrock, the Danehole roundabout road markings are a disgrace.

Reading that cheered me up on this miserable Sunday morning :)

Bad Barry was runing the show when they fined resdents illegal fees to residents with council tax arrears. They had to refund and compensate them.

We should also remember bad Barry, when he was a cabinet member running Thurrock Council, helped almost bankrupt the council when he spent al the reserves while services got worse, rent arrears and council tax arears increased.

When Labour took over Thurrock Council there was only enough cash left to run the council for three months.

I'm afraid bad Barry is suffering from a terminal case of selective amnesia. A common complaint of lying hypocritical tory politicians.

Please don't let him get his hands back on the councils funds - he will flush the lot down the toilet.

People MUST vote to ensure that inept politicians do not repeatedly come back in to power. The turnout was about 20% or less in most of the wards. One ward in Purfleet had 22 voters walk in by mid day. There is no point moaning afterwards or complaining if you do not vote. They make it easy you can do it by post with a freepost envelope. We all know who the dodgy politicians are both locally and nationally, please VOTE to make sure they don't get back in. In my ward the elderly persons, some very infirm turned out to vote as they know the importance and value their votes. I really admire them for this. Make sure you are on the electoral register just phone the council and they will tell you if you are registered and make your voice heard.
