Police seek man in Tilbury taxi robberies

POLICE are seeking a man they wish to interview in connection with two robberies on taxi drivers in March.

At 10.15pm on Tuesday 13, a driver was threatened by a man with a large knife who stole £75. The driver was pulling over to pick the man up on Thackeray Avenue, Tilbury.

Two days later, on Thursday 15 March, at approximately 10pm, a taxi driver went to pick-up a pre-booked fare on Pageants Close, Tilbury. On arrival, he also was robbed of £159 by a man with a knife.

Police wish to interview 31-year-old Darren Reeves about the incidents.

Reeves is known to frequent the Tilbury and South Ockendon areas and used to live on Dickens Avenue, Tilbury.

He is white, 6ft 2in tall and slim with blue eyes. He has several distinctive tattoos, including the word "kill", a picture of a bulldog on his left arm and the name "Connor" running up the inside of his right upper arm.
