Courts Players to do a tale of adultery
3:00pm Saturday 28th April 2012 in News
THURROCK Courts Players are taking on an Alan Ayckbourn play for their next outing at the Thameside Theatre in Grays.
How the Other Half Loves is on at the theatre, in Orsett Road, from May 24 to 26, at 7.45pm.
It follows the messy love lives of three married couples.
Frank employs Bob and William, but is considering William for promotion. Bob is having an affair with Frank’s wife and argues constantly with his own wife, Teresa.
Mary suspects her husband William is having an affair.
It all comes to a head when each of the adulterous parties invites William and Mary to dinner parties on successive nights and both gatherings end in disaster.
Thurrock Courts Players is based in Grays and was founded in 1965.
It is a member of Thurrock Arts Society.
There are around 30 members of the group today, who all pitch in with tasks such as costumes. props, and scenery.
The group has enjoyed success at a number of drama festivals up and down the country in recent years, including a place in the South Eastern and National finals.
How The Other Half Loves is directed by Vic Gray. Fiona Foster is played by Lisa Chapman and her husband Frank is portrayed by John Scowen.
Tickets are £10 for adults, reduced to £8 for concessions.
