ST LUKE’S Hospice has opened its tenth charity shop.

Thurrock Mayor Charles Curtis cut the blue ribbon to officially open the shop, in Calcutta Road, Tilbury, with help from Gerry Peaty, chairman of the hospice trustees.

The shop, which used to be a greengrocers and was empty for six months, was completely refitted thanks to a donation from the Barclays Bank Community Fund.

It is open from 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
