SHADOW minister for small business, Toby Perkins, pictured here with Polly Billington, the Labour parliamentary candidate for Thurrock, attended a business breakfast in Grays.

He spoke to more than 40 representatives from small businesses in the area at the Thurrock Network Group meeting.

He said: “What people here have been stressing is the need for the Government to take really strong action to get growth and confidence back into our economy.

“We would reduce VAT back to 17.5 per cent and get more money back into people’s pockets.”

An even bigger wow is Labour showing any interest in business big or small.
Maybe if they had paid more attention to business when they were in govt for 13 years, then maybe, just maybe we wouldn't be where we are now. But that would mean allowing some degree of self determination for people and not imposing punitive taxes and other things on business. Meaning they may have been able to employ people and keep the economy bouyant. But then that wouldn't be Labour.

Its only a matter of time before the Thurrock Tories start their campaign and spreading their lies and waffle to the Thurrock voters, hopefully Thurrock voters have a good memory regarding the Thurrock Technical College campaign, their two faced Conservative councilors let the residents of North Grays down! now its time for the local Thurrock Conservatives councilors to start pounding the streets of Thurrock spouting off how good they are and what they can do for us, and they will have a job to find one of their top Conservative guns top support them due to the spin and lies and the serious trouble they are in at this present moment in time, in it together, I don’t think so, Dave and old Cleggy have really stirred up a hornets nest with us voters all over the country regarding who they really support, Voters only have to watch the recent news regarding possible back door dealings, and the recent Lib Dem, Conservative Budget is their final nail in the coffin.
