Cattle set for nature reserve
7:20am Sunday 22nd April 2012 in News
VILLAGERS in Thurrock will soon be able to glance out their windows and see the idyllic scene of cattle grazing.
Work has begun to turn part of Linford Wood and Nature Reserve into a haven for cattle to roam.
The large scale project is being carried out by the Essex Wildlife Trust, with Thurrock Council, and will see grazing being brought into a patch of land off East Tilbury Road.
Work has begun to install a new fence around the reserve perimeter, which has led to the clearance of scrub and bramble.
The new fence will also include four kissing gates to allow access to the site and also allow the public to get on to the woodland without having to be in the field with the cattle.
Linford Wood and Nature Reserve has become a popular beauty spot for bird watchers, dog walkers and local families.
