Power station staff get rowing for charity
7:00am Saturday 21st April 2012 in News
THREE workers at Tilbury Power Station are preparing for an oar-some charity challenge.
Gavin Davey, Joe Keaney and Gary Bird are amongst 22 people selected out of 200 for a 36-strong Npower team that will row across the English Channel in May and June.
The squad are hoping to raise a minimum of £6,400 as they look to complete the 22-mile crossing in seven hours.
The sporty Tilbury trio are looking forward to the challenge, which is being supported by Langstone Adventure Rowing, who trained and coxed comedian John Bishop in his recent Sport Relief challenge.
