Alice-based workshops at Opera House
7:00am Saturday 7th April 2012 in News
THE Royal Opera House is running Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland-themed workshops in Purfleet this Easter.
The Sounding Out for Families’ four sessions are on Tuesday, April 10, and Wednesday, April 11, between 10.30am and 4.30pm at the High House Production Park, in Vellacott Close.
Based on the Royal Ballet’s production of the Lewis Carroll classic about a little girl who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world, the workshops will offer families the chance to join in with singing and dancing, design props and scenery, and compose songs and poems.
A spokesman for the Royal Opera House said: “Each of the four workshops focuses on something different.
“Designing Wonderland invites families to travel down the rabbit-hole and work with a designer in the development of a creation from scratch.
“Compose Yourself session is a practical workshop in which families can create musical soundscapes that tell an exciting story.
“A World of Words immerses families in a magical world of words and music as they devise their own poems and songs.
“Finally the whole family can enjoy a dynamic and energetic afternoon of dance as a professional choreographer teaches a creative movement session in Dancing With Alice.”
All workshop tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for under-16s.
The workshops are suitable for everyone over the age of seven, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Everyone who attends the sessions will be expected to take part in the activities.
