Young readers at three Sandwell schools will be competing in the Rowley Regis Book Quiz Final next month.
The pupils at Brickhouse Primary, Oakham Primary and Tividale Hall primary schools will be competing on Thursday December 1.
The finals will be at the brand new St Michael’s CH High Business and Enterprise College on the Rowley Learning Campus, between 9.45-11.30am.
Councillor Bob Badham, cabinet member for children and families, said: “This is an excellent competition which helps to encourage young children to take an interest in reading.
“I am pleased that 11 local schools took part in the quiz competition and the three finalists have successfully competed in quarter finals and semi finals to get to the final.”
The quiz, for pupils in Year 5 and 6, is based on six books. It is organised by the Rowley Regis Leaning Community, Sandwell Schools Library Service and Rowley Town Libraries.
