Electric charge points set for car parks

ELECTRIC car charging points are being installed over the borough in a bid to get motorists to be more environmentally-friendly.

Charge point provider POD Point, which has launched the Government-backed initiative to increase charge points in the county, has plans to put them into three car parks in Thurrock.

Over the next year, the points will be put in King Street, Stanford-le-Hope, and Argent Street and Crown Road car parks, in Grays.

Doesn't say how much it will cost.

EV charge points are currently free for motorists to use, so they will cost a motorist absolutely nothing to use.

If a company is looking to install a public charge point through Source East they can receive a subsidy of up to 75% towards the cost.
