THE leader of Thurrock Council called on residents to take part in the consultation over the Dartford Crossing.
Reacting to the Government’s announcement that it is committed to exploring free-flow charging and additional crossing capacity, Labour Cllr John Kent said: “It’s really quite simple. We want the toll booths gone.
“Unfortunately I can’t see that happening, so I want to see free-flow tolling, like the Congestion Charge in London.
“If we are to make a success of regenerating Thurrock, we have to get the infrastructure in place and in time.
“I call on every resident of Thurrock to fill in the consultation paper – we need free-flow tolls now.”
