Paul Hanagan, who got his first taste of Irish racing when riding in four races at The Curragh yesterday, switches to Scotland tomorrow and can resume winning ways at Hamilton.

The Ryedale jockey, who fared best yesterday on the Richard Fahey-trained Kings Point, runner-up in a Listed race, teams-up with the in-form Sahara Silk in the Hamilton Park Super Six Handicap.

Trained by Derek Shaw, the four-year-old is in rude health at present and is bidding for a hat-trick of wins following successes at Beverley and Musselburgh. I expect her to be difficult to beat in this five furlong dash.

Loughlorien is napped to land the Sunday Mail Family Day Next Week Handicap for York-based apprentice Danny Tudhope.

Trained by Ronnie Barr near Stockton, Loughlorien gave notice that his winning turn was imminent when finishing third over five furlongs at Beverley last week.

Tudhope, who is apprenticed to Warthill trainer Declan Carroll, takes a valuable 5lb off Loughlorien's back and they should make a determined attempt in tomorrow's six furlong race.

Alan Swinbank, who had to settle for third place with his strongly fancied Far Pavilions in the Northumberland Plate on Saturday, can lift the Famous Grouse Classified Stakes with Go Solo.

Robert Winston's mount got home by three-parts of a length from Jubilee Street at Redcar 11 days ago and the confidence gained from getting his head in front there should stand him in good stead tomorrow.

Hambleton trainer Kevin Ryan is enjoying a tremendous year and Iskander can be another winner for the Irishman in the DM Hall Handicap.

The mount of Neil Callan, Iskander is running consistently well at present and was a creditable runner-up to Snowed Under at Leicester on his latest start.

At Brighton's meeting tomorrow, Goodbye Girl can reward backers in the opening race, the Keystone Resources Claiming Stakes.

The two-year-old, already a winner this season, represents the Nottinghamshire yard of Coghan O'Neill, whose juveniles have been in flying form.

Saxon Lil bids for a quick double in the Bet365 Handicap.

The three-year-old, trained by John Spearing, scored at Doncaster on Saturday night, showing a willing attitude to get home from Sam's Secret. A 6lb penalty may not be enough to prevent her from obliging again.

Ebor target for Plate hero Cecil

YORK'S Tote Ebor Handicap on August 17 is the main target now for Sergeant Cecil, the John Smith's Northumberland Plate winner at Newcastle on Saturday.

Rod Millman, Devon-based trainer of Sergeant Cecil, said the Tote Ebor Handicap is the long-term aim, but it has yet to be decided where the six-year-old gelding might run before then.

Sergeant Cecil was ridden by former York-based jockey Alan Munro, who was aboard Irish Derby flop Walk In The Park at The Curragh yesterday. He said the horse ran out of stamina. The racecourse vet found later that Walk In the Park had a respiratory infection.

Hurricane Run, ridden by Kieren Fallon, won the Irish Derby.
