Bill Rammell MP meets Carl Morris with Thurrock Gurka leader Dharma Sunwa and current MP Andrew Mackinlay Bill Rammell MP meets Carl Morris with Thurrock Gurka leader Dharma Sunwa and current MP Andrew Mackinlay

GOVERNMENT Minister Bill Rammell visited Grays on Thursday to support parliamentary candidate Carl Morris in his battle to win the Thurrock seat.

Mr Rammell, minister for the armed forces, came to Grays shopping centre to meet some of the Gurkhas in Thurrock.

Mr Rammell said: “It is tremendous someone like Carl wants to stand, he is Thurrock through and through.

"I am here to support him and I know he can affect the issues in the borough. I would like to work with him as the MP for Thurrock.

“I am also here to speak to the Gurkhas in Thurrock. I was in Afghanistan a few weeks ago with the Gurkhas and I like to spend time with them.

"We are supporting them with pensions and what they have brought to us is so impressive.”

He added how “impressed” he was with the armed forces and “the sense of conviction” soldiers show and have in Afghanistan.

Minister for armed forces? Must be an easy job making sure that our hero's are not very well paid or equipped to fight for this country.

Isn't it amazing that the Gazette will take every opportunity to publicise the Labour party and publicise anything it thinks is good news for the Labour party, but won't print anything that is likely to damage the Labour party. Take the news that £52 million is going to be cut from the health budget. Where did that story go in this weeks Gazette. They should rename this paper as the Labour party news letter. They print a story saying violent crime is going down, even though the government is suppressing a report into it because it probably shows exactly the opposite. They may as well just publish pictures of cuddly Carl hugging babies and stroking fluffy cuddly animals. Bit like the story about the greens backing the freebie loving Smith. Forget how corrupt they are, they must be wonderful because the morally incorruptible greens are backing them. What a pile of s**t.

Dear Mr Minister, Why have you decided to cut health spending in Thurrock by £52 million, cut funding for Palmer college rebuild, axe the funding for the Thurrock Learning Campus and cut the funds for rebuilding all the secondary schools in Thurrock and snatch £10 million from the Development Corporation and spend it in 5 London Boroughs instead while still forcing 30,000 new homes on Thurrock? Angela Smith MP is on record saying Labour don't cut during a recession they invest.

Pa, apparently the editor is gay, so as he is in a minority group it would explain why he favour's the labour party and we all know that the Labour party favour's minority groups.

well there's something to bear in mind Baphomet. He's probably in regular contact with Carl and Smith to be told what he is allowed to print. Fit's in well with this governments version of democracy. Lie through your teeth, never let them know the truth and above all else never publish anything bad about the government. What a pathetic way to run a paper, a cowardly political stooge at the helm publishing what he's told

I think the sign behind their heads is missing a 'N' out of the last word.

On the brighter side, when was the last time you saw three white people on Grays High Street?

Good job they had an immigrant in the picture otherwise they would have been reprimanded by their superiors for not being diverse enough.
