A MAN who tried to kill his ex-lover and stabbed her mother is facing years behind bars.
Patrick Akintunde, 20, attacked his former girlfriend Anna Mazara, also 20, and her mum Esther on Easter Monday this year.
The two women were found suffering from multiple stab wounds at their home in Lakedale Court, Marine, Drive, Barking.
Akintunde was arrested the same day.
Appearing at the Old Bailey via video link, Akintunde admitted attempted murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on April 14. Judge Timothy Pontius QC ordered a series of psychiatric assessments to be done to establish whether the defendant, who was just 19 at the time, is suffering from any mental illness. Akintunde, of Centurian Way, Purfleet, will next appear in court on February 10 next year.
