A BUS company is again set to turn back the clock, with a special one-day vintage bus service between Grays and Gravesend Clock Tower via Lakeside shopping centre and Bluewater.
The special X80 bus service will run on Saturday, December 5.
Ensign Bus Company, based in Purfleet, will again be running the vintage buses, which date as far back as the 1940s, with a majority having an open back design just like the London Routemaster bus.
Buses will run every 30 minutes between 8.57am and 4.57pm from Grays bus station and will stop at any bus stop along the route by request. There will also be another vintage route (X55) that will run between Upminster and Lakeside, connecting with the special X80 buses at Lakeside. Father Christmas will also be out and about on the special buses with a bag full of goodies for children.
A vintage day ticket will be available from the bus conductor at just £6 for adults or £3 for children, which will be valid on both vintage routes plus normal Ensign Bus services in the Thurrock area. A full timetable is available on www.ensignbus.com or by calling 01708 865656.
