A NEW children’s centre has been opened in Thurrock.
Chadwell Children’s Centre in Claudian Way will be offering a huge range of surgeries, support services including health and maternity service and a variety of family activities.
On Mondays the Citizens Advice Bureau, stop smoking and breastfeeding advice is available.
There are groups for newborn babies up to two-year-olds on Tuesday afternoons and two to five-year-olds on Thursday mornings, childminder support, positive parenting, and story sack sessions among others.
The centre is also planning a series of new sessions in the coming weeks and months, including a confidential counselling service, parenting groups and baby massage.
Thurrock Council’s portfolio holder for Children’s Services, Cllr Sue MacPherson, said: “Children’s centres provide a focus for young families, bringing together the services they need in one place.
“We now have many children’s centres across Thurrock each one providing dedicated services tailored for its particular community. These centres do a wonderful job providing for children from birth to five-years-old and their mums and dads.”
