GHOST hunters and fright fans will descend upon Coalhouse Fort in East Tilbury to decide how haunted it is.

The event, run by ghost hunting events company London Paranormal, is one of a series of similar all night vigils being held at various maritime strongholds.Every Saturday night in May will be spent holding vigil inside four historical forts to determine which one is the most haunted.

The Battle commences at Landguard Fort in Felixstowe on May 2 then Harwich Redoubt Fort on May 9.

The Coalhouse Fort event is on May 16, before a finale in the terrifying tunnels of Fort Amherst in Chatham on May 23.

Event Manager, Ian Shillito said "This is the first time a public ghost hunting event of this magnitude has ever been attempted.

“All the forts involved are reputed to suffer from a plethora of ghost sightings and paranormal activity we are very excited to be holding vigil in these terrifying forts.

“A reduced price package is available for the whole event; however tickets are available for singular events as well.”

In a series of experiments', vigils and data logging, the ghost hunters will endeavour to discover the most haunted fort by the end of the month.

The night consists of a welcome meeting, brief talk about ghosts and spirits, group and lone vigils, psychic experiments, experienced psychics and investigators.

You will be pro-active during the base line tests and get the chance to monitor ghost hunting gadgets throughout the night.

Tea, Coffee and biscuits will be served.

The events are over 18s only and run from 9pm to 4am.

The price for one event is £50 per person, £90 per person for two events, £140 per person for three events and £180 per person for all four.
