A GANG of robbers snatched a wallet and cash from a teenager during a street attack.

The 19-year-old man was walking along Humber Avenue in South Ockendon when he was jumped from behind.

Police are now hunting the raiders and are appealing for witnesses.

Sgt Kevin McPoland said: “This man was just minding his own business when he was jumped and robbed by these men.”

“This attack happened in the early evening so someone must have either seen it take place or seen these three men in the area acting suspiciously.

“If they did, then we want to hear from them.

“We want to catch these men before they target anyone else, so if you know who they are or recognise them from the descriptions, call us now.”

All three men are described as white and wore hoodies.

One was aged between 17 and 20, was 5ft 8ins tall and wore a grey hoodie.

His accomplice was around 5ft 6ins tall, was skinny and wore a dark blue hooodie.

And the third man was also around 5ft 6ins tall, is described as very skinny and also wore a dark blue hoodie.

Witnesses to the robbery, which happened at around 6.10pm on Sunday, are asked to contact police at Grays on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
