A TEAM of Thurrock workers are set to cycle, canoe and trek their way through the Cambrian Black Mountains in aid of a disabled children’s charity.
A Team from CG Interiors and Cranegates based in Tilbury, will cover 68 miles in a wild two days through the Cambrian Black Mountains and beyond – in order to raise £12,000 for children’s mobility charity Whizz-Kidz.
Starting on August 8, the challengers will begin their ‘carbon neutral challenge’ - using no powered transport to cross the Black Mountains and explore the River Wye.
By cycling, canoeing and trekking their way across the rough terrain, the 13 men aim to raise vital funds towards supporting disabled children’s independence.
Peter Green, of the CG group said: "We are undertaking this challenge to highlight CG Group’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and to raise money for a very worthwhile cause while we are doing it.
"Whizz-Kidz’ work makes real change in young people’s lives - funding equipment like powered wheelchairs that can change a life overnight."
