Body found in Thames confirmed to be that of missing teenager

Police have confirmed that the body found in the River Thames at West Thurrock on Tuesday was that of missing teenager Adunayo Shittu.

Adunayo, 18, from Stifford Clays, went missing on Tuesday July 1 while swimming off Grays Beach with friends.

He failed to reappear after being pulled under by a strong current.

His body was found under a jetty near the Vopak plant by South Ockendon fisherman David Webb, 47.
