THIEVES have again struck while an angler has been sleeping.
Last week the Gazette reported how a 16-year-old from Corringham was night fishing in Basildon's Gloucester Park when he fell asleep.
While he was dozing thieves crept up and stole £350 worth of fishing gear.
Now a 58-year-old man for Tilbury has suffered the same misfortune, losing £2,000 of tackle while night fishing at Wharf Road in Stanford-le-Hope.
Anyone with information about the latest theft, which happened at 2.30am on Monday, is asked to contact police at Thurrock on 0300 333 4444.
