MEMBERS of Thurrock's growing Eastern European communities are being invited to find out how they can improve their computer skills.
A drop in event is being held on Friday, May 23 from 7pm to 9pm. at the Beehive, Voluntary & Community Resource Centre, West Street, Grays.
Those attending can find out more about the GET ON 2 GET ON' community learning bus which has10 computers and internet access. If there is enough interest then free computer courses can be organised.
People can come along at anytime and there is no need to book in advance. They will also be able to use the internet and computers, find out about other learning available and discover how to get more involved in community activities such as their Community Forum. There will be free refreshments for those attending.
The event is part of a six month project led by ngage and Thurrock Adult Community College to raise the profile of Get On 2 Get On', promote learning and encourage community involvement throughout Thurrock.
Claire Downes the project worker said we are also taking the bus out and about throughout Thurrock over the next few months so people in most areas will have the chance to get involved. Computer courses on the bus are free and on your doorstep so take them up while you can!'.
