A SHOP worker was threatened by a robber wielding a broken bottle during a terrifying raid.
The man was working at the Grays Convenience Store in Clarence Road, Grays when the attack happened.
The raider burst in and pulled a glass bottle from his pocket which he smashed on the counter.
He then threatened the shop worker with it while demanding he hand over cash.
The robber then fled with £50 cash from the till and detectives are now hunting him.
Bill Stock of Thurrock police said: "This was a very frightening experience for the shop worker.
"Although the robber didn't use the broken bottle he was obviously prepared to.
"We need to find this man and anyone who knows who he is needs to contact us a matter of urgency."
He is described as white, aged around 22, 5ft 3ins tall and slim with brown hair. He wore short jeans and a light coloured shirt.
Witnesses to the raid, which happened at 9pm on Saturday, are asked to contact police at Grays on 0300 333 444.
