A TALENTED 10-year-old triumphed in the pre-junior British baton twirling open championships.

Eliza Letch, of Thurrock Bellettes club, came out on top at the tournament against 28 under 12s.

Eliza came through two rounds of twirling to qualify for the final.The eight competitors on the final had to perform a two-minute routine which had to show all three modes of twirling, contact, rolls and aerials. She also had to show body/baton technique, flexibility and musical interpretation throughout.

Eliza has been a member of the bellettes for eight years and first started competing at the age of 3, Eliza also competed in the junior pairs section and junior team event.

Her and her partner gained 2nd place and her team won ther group. This team of “allstars” now qualify for the Euro championships to be held in Dublin this July and will represent England against 12 other countries.
