Harry Hill visited Tudor Court Primary School in Chafford Hundred to promote his first children's novel.

The TV comedian, popular for his show Harry Hill's TV Burp, visited the school on Thursday November 30 to meet the pupils and sign their copies of his new book, Matt Millz.

He took the time to chat to all of the children he met and told jokes.

He also met and chatted to one of the pupils who suffers from Duchenne a muscular dystrophy disorder and he was very interested in him as Harry recently became the patron for the Duchenne society.

Harry then did an hours assembly to 240 year 5 and 6 children where he entertained them with jokes and skits, read the first chapter of his book, and held a ‘laughometer’ stand-up competition where 10 children had the chance to tell a joke and gauge the audience reaction.

The visit was organised by the publishers Faber and Faber and book company Just Imagine along with the English Lead at Tudor Court Primary, Elizabeth Arnell.

He was promoting his first children’s novel Matt Millz about a young boy who is desperate to make it as a stand-up comedian and perform in front of thousands.

Liz Arnell at Tudor Court Primary School said: "It was a great day and so many children are now frantically reading their signed copy of the book at every opportunity in school."
